In many conversations I find people talking about the mentaility of corporations and with the bosses they work for. To corporate America you are only one of many people, just a number. They don't spend time to get to know you nor do they want to have a relationship with you because it makes their job harder when its time to make cuts or layoffs.
I read Isaiah 45 where it says in verse 3 that the Lord, "...calls me by my name". The God of all the Universe who is busy listening to prayers from a little girl in China, while at the same time that an ethiopian boy says a prayer, while an Alabama mom is praying for her kids, etc...
God is never too busy to know me and have a relationship with me.
He knows my name, He knows my thoughts, He knows when I am weak and He knows how to make me strong. While I may not know what to expect from this day or any other day, I know and have a relationship with someone who controls everyday. And what a feeling to know that when I go to Him in prayer, He never has to say, "Remind me again who you are?".
Far from it. I can just imagine Him saying to me this morning, "Hey Mickey, did you sleep well last night? What's on your mind today..." Wow! God calls me by name.
We serve a God that cares for us enough to send a sacrifice for our sins, bestows grace because he knows we are going to mess up at times but He also knows every need we have because He knows us by name.
"Thank you Lord for recognizing me when I come to you in prayer. It's just encouraging to know that when I say, "Lord", you say "Yes, Mickey?".
