Several months ago I went to pick up Logan. Just as soon as I walked into my mom's house, Logan met me at the door with a huge smile on her face. The words that proceeded out of her mouth was a little confusing compared to her facial expression. She said, "Dad, I have had the worst day..." I was confused. She met me at the door with a huge smile on her face telling me how she first got her arm stuck in between the bleachers at school (that's my daughter) which left a bruise. From there she started explaining to me how she scraped her ankle on the playground, then she hit her big toe on the edge of the couch. But she was still smiling.
So I asked her why she was smiling so big if she had what she called "the worst day ever". It was very simple, those things happened before she got to Memaw's house. Once she got there, Memaw took her in her arms and loved on her and made the day look a lot better.
Even though we might have been through a lot of pain and confusion, its as though I have been to Memaw's house but instead we can run right into the arms of my Heavenly Father. He takes us into his arms and has the power to make our lives look a lot better. I guess you could say we can receive the petting from God that Logan received from MeMaw that day.
It's just a little sweeter!
Psalms 139:23, 24
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful ways in me and lead me in the everlasting way."
