I remember as a child when playing on the playground sometimes as with all boys, a scuffle or pushing match may break out in the middle of your backyard football game. When the parents would come to put a stop to it there was always one phrase you would hear instantly, "He started it!"
With things that have happend in my life these past few weeks, I have had many people who have taken the opportunity to judge me and to be very critical I might add. Whether through looks or just being short when they are around me they have got their point across that they are dissatisifed with me. And I understand.
But I read a warning today for me.
Matthew 7:7;
"Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you."
In situations like this, it becomes easy to allow myself to judge others only because they are judging me. Taking the time to question their motives but also question or JUDGE their lifestyle or their lack of committment. But just because "they started it" as you might would have said as a child, it still doesn't make it right for me to retaliate with judgemental thoughts.
I am just thankful today that God is in control and He knows all about my troubles. He sees and hears what is taking place. All I have to do is turn my emotions and concerns over to Him and He handles it for me.
What an awesome God! "First thing on my list today, Lord is to not get caught in the satan's trap of judging just because I am being judged." With God, it doesn't matter who started it, He simply says, "Don't judge!"
