I am just like any other person in the fact that I have needs. Everyone does. I read the scripture and hear it quoted quite often, "Ask and it shall be given to you." But what do you do when you have been asking and it still hasn't come yet?

This morning, I read a challenge that goes along with that scripture. It's found in Luke 6:38.
"Give and it will be given to you". So if I need love, I need to give some love. If I need friends, I need to first be a friend. If I need financial assitance, I need to give to someone first. It all goes back to the sowing of the seed. I must first put into the ground the seed in which I need a harvest from. And then start thanking God for what He is going to provide.

Verse 38 is much more encouraging because the scripture goes on to say,"give to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over that it will pour out into your lap."

Pressed down - like trying to fit as much garbage into the can as possible
Skaken together - like trying to fit all of the bag of corn meal into the canister
Running over - like a glass of coke that fizzes out before you can stop it.

That is how much I can get in return if I will simply start the process by giving.

Prayer:
"Lord, help me to see the many opportunities that you have placed before me today in which I can give. Help me to see the need and be willing to give it with a cheerful heart knowing You are going to give the increase."
