My New Song

All my life I have been around music. Ever since I was 10-years old, music has been a top priority in my life. As I get older there are certain songs that I can hear that will bring back memories. Memories of a particular date, the prom theme, football games and dances, etc...

Messages are great and I love good preaching but well written songs with the right musical backup can turn your feelings around. Good and bad that is why I have to watch what I allow into my ears. That's why I like what the Psalmist said.

Psalms 40:3
"...And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God"

My song list was "Oh Poor Pitfiul Me", "Could My Life Get Any Worse", "I Think I Will Just Cry". But the scripture explains what God did for me when Christ entered my life. He gave me a new song to sing. Now when I am tempted to get in the mood to sing those former songs, now I can lift my hands and heart to the Lord and sing a song of praise.

"Thank You Lord for Saving My Soul"
"His Eye is on the Sparrow and I Know He Watches Me"
"I'm Trading My Sorrows For the Joy of the Lord"


Prayer:
"Lord, help me to sing the new song you have place in my heart and mouth. Help me be reminded that You are ever before me and when I feel alone and depressed you are there to lift me back up and set my feet upon the rock to make my footsteps firm."
