When Things Are Not Just Right

I try to encourage everyone I come in contact with. Many times I find folks who are just thinking in the wrong direction for something good to happen in their life. And I find myself at times looking at life the same way they do. Always negative!

But then I run across people who need the "V-8 Slap to the head". For some, there is a great reason why things are going backwards instead of forwards. And its these people who are used as a constant reminder for me to "Consider My Ways". That's how Haggai put it in the Old Testament.

Haggai 1:6
"You have sown much but harvest little; you eat but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns wages to put into a purse with holes." (v.7) "Thus says the Lord of hosts, Consider your ways."

When things start to go bad in my life I must first consider the things that I have going on in my life. Are there things I have done that I shouldn't have done and need forgivness for? Am I being faithful to God, His word, His house and His commandments? In other words, are these things happening to me because I am not in God's will?

There is one thing to just be negative all the time and have the poor, pitiful me attitude and reap those seeds of negativity. It's another thing to be living outside of God's will and reaping from those seeds of unfaithfulness.

Prayer:
"Lord, help me to realize today where I am with you. And if I am not where I am suppose to be, help me get there now! I pray that when I take one step outside of your will You will let me know and I will hear your voice to "Consider My Ways" and get back to where I am suppose to be."
