Ephesians 4:1
"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in the manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called."

Strong words to start the day. When I see Paul using the reference of a "prisoner" and relate it to our prison system today, it brings a new meaning to my walk with Christ. When I think that a prisoner sitting in a jail cell is confined or bound to the person to which is overseeing him. In other words, in the county jail, the prisoners do what the county says. They are told when to leave the cell, they are told when they will be eating, they have no choice in what food they are going to eat.

Shouldn't that be the exact way I live my life with Christ? Shouldn't I be arrested to Jesus and bound to Him to where I do nothing until He tells me. I only say what He tells me to say. I only eat when He tells me to eat. I only drink what He tells me to drink.

When I am truly arrested by Christ and being held as His prisoner that is when I will live a life "worthy of the calling". I don't take lightly that I am called a Christian. While others throw that term around, someone very special had to die so I could have that calling. And when I live my life wide open and in the opposite direction of how God wants me to live it, I am bringing shame to the title that has been bestowed upon me. I trample over the blood that was shed to give me the title that of a Christian.

Prayer:
"Lord, arrest me today and make me your prisoner. Tell me everything you would have me to do. And at the end of the day, I pray I have upheld the title of Christian in they way I conducted my life for you."
