I talk to people who are always telling me they are afraid to speak to others about Christ. For whatever reason, mentioning Christ to someone puts them in an awkward position and causes them to battle on the inside the entire time they are with these people.
God called us to share the gospel with every person. I have come to realize that every person I have conversations with today is for a purpose. It's not that I have to preach to everyone of them but I must make sure that I have my "game face" on. I have to be constantly aware that people are watching me and my actions. They are listening to every word I am saying and making a decision about me and my motives.
And when it comes to speaking, I have to claim the words of Christ when He told Paul in Acts 18:9, 10
"...Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you..."
That is comforting to know that not only did I get the command to speak and not be silent but I should have no fears because Christ said He is with me.
Prayer:
"Lord, help me see today that you are working around me. Every phone call, every person I run into on the street is by divine appointment. At the very least, help me to always have an encouraging word for every person I speak with today not knowing the kind of day they might be having."
