I teach and preach that we are to share the Gospel which is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Many people today are confused about what this may be. It seems like it would be simple but if you hear the words coming out of our mouths you would wander if we really know the Gospel. You see, the Gospel is not about us.
2nd Corinthians 4:5
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord..."
But when you hear many people talking today it's all about them. Look what I have done. Look at what I have or they tell you all about what they have accomplished in the ministry and what great things they have done. But it's not about us.
Our message to others should not be about how much we read our bible daily. It's great that we are in His word but is that something we feel we must go out an promote? It's great that we have close relationship with God and we continue to get closer but when we get around others instead of promoting God, we find ourselves promoting, "I, I, I". This world doesn't need to hear how much we have done or they might get the message that entrance to heaven is based on works. I want to be found today talking less about me and more about Him. In fact, I don't even need to be mentioned.
Prayer:
"Lord, help me to realize today that my message should never include me but should be all about You. I cannot take credit for anything I do or say because you are the One who allowed it to happen."
