Wow! I get overwhelmed thinking about the dedication of all the men and women who sacrifice their lives so we can claim freedom in our country. And also their families who give them up for us. That is what we are suppose to do today right? Talk about freedom and think upon the many who died so we could have cookouts, games and fireworks?
How this world and even the church will put so much effort into celebrating and honoring those sacrifices but when it comes to honoring Christ as our ultimate sacrifice, we simply don't have the time.
Galatians 5:1
"Stand firm in the liberty wherewith Christ as made us free..."
I can honor my country, my family but also my Lord by focusing on all the sacrifices that were made so I can have the life that I have. It all started with a man and a cross.
Prayer:
"Lord, help us not to get so busy today that we forget the sacrifice you made. If it were not for you, these other men and women would be dying in vain. They would have no reason to fight for our country because I know that true freedom comes from you. To God be the Glory!"
