You just have to keep on keeping on. That is what Paul says in Philippians 3:12.
"Not that I have already obtained it, or have become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus."
He is saying, "I am not there yet so I can't give up". Have you been ready to give up?
Give up on church, give up on family, give up on ever succeeding? When it comes to our race that we have been called to run as children of God, we cannot give up. We have not reached the finish line yet. As long as you are alive, you are still in the race. Things may not be going your way and it seems you are being passed by others on every side but you still must cross the finish line.
Don't give up. Don't allow what others say to you get you down. You are not running your race for them, you are running the race for God.
verse 13 - "forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead"
Don't allow the past to keep you from running your race. Don't get so entangled with the feeling of your failures or even your successes from the past that it hinders you from doing God's work with your life.
Prayer:
"Lord, help me today to run the race you have set before me. I know I have not reached the place of quitting or you would have already carried my to my heavenly home. Help me to keep distractions away as I run for you."
