I wanted to just share with you what we talked about on Wednesday during our service and how Union Hill is preparing for Revival. Please share this email with other members who may not appear on this email and also invite them to be added to this list for occasional email updates.

Revival doesn't come to a person because of great preaching, it comes when people pray. In Matthew 6, Jesus gave some very basic information in His "Sermon on the Mount" that will help us have revival in our personal lives. I am not praying for decisions to be made, I am praying for lives to be transformed. I want you to pray and ask God how He would have you respond to the revival commitment below. Those in attendance on Wednesday have already done so but I didn't want you to be left out.

Giving - Jesus said in Matthew 6:1, "When you give..." and then He deal with the proper way to give your tithe and offerings. I hope you understand that an offering is after and above your 10% tithe that Jesus talks about.

Commitment:To ask God what He would like for you to do without for the next ten days leading up to our revival so you can bring that money you have saved and give to Him as a sacrificial offering. Some may do without a coke or coffee each day, others may sell some things they really don't need. Ever how God deals with you, respond by coming to revival with your sacrificial offering and give to God with a cheerful heart.

Pray - Jesus said, "When you pray..." As though we are already doing this. God is not concerned with how you pray publicly, He wants to hear your heart when you pray privately. A person should never pray out loud in public until he/she has spent time with God in their prayer closet.

Commitment:
Our church will be open from 6:30am - 11:00pm from Thursday (today) until our revival rally on Saturday, August 2nd. I am asking you to make a commitment to come to the church each day at whatever time fits your schedule and spend time in prayer for revival. This maybe before you go to work, maybe during a lunch hour, or maybe after work when everyone else has gone to bed. "Preachers don't bring revival - Prayer brings revival"

Fasting - Jesus said in Matthew 6, "when you fast..." This is not a common practice for most Christians but a major power source to show our sacrifice and dedication to the Lord. Maybe your fast is to go without a coke or coffee each day, others may do without meat or bread, just understand that a fast deals with food not other items such as, television, computer games, radio, etc...

Commitment:
Find something you enjoy eating or drinking and dedicate yourself to do without it for the next 10 days leading up to revival. And every time you have a desire for that item, stop what you are doing and pray for revival.
I will end this email by asking you to answer a question I asked the congregation on Wednesday night. "IF you could ask God for one thing - what would it be?"

Because that is what I want you praying to see happen during this revival meeting. Every time you come to the church to pray, when you sacrifice so your offering will be greater, when you fast from a meal item or drink - do it to see this one thing come to pass. We are simply showing God through these efforts that we are in desperate need of revival and we are willing to sacrifice to show how much we need God.

Will you join me?
