How soon we forget.

Have you ever ran into someone you haven't seen in years? Perhaps its an old high school friend and when you knew them back in the day they were more down to earth than they are now.

Maybe they have come a long way from how they used to be and act. I will sometimes hear people say this phrase in referring to their different attitude. They would say something like, "Boy, they sure have forgotten where they came from." Have you ever heard that?

What they were trying to say is that they quickly forgot how things used to be and certain circumstances now has caused them to act differently.

Sometimes I think we can get that way when pertaining to our salvation. We find ourselves forgetting that there was a time when we were sinners.

1st Timothy 1:15, Paul says, "It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all."

Paul was saying that if there was ever a "Sinner of the Year" award he was sure to win it. This coming from the man who wrote the biggest portion of the New Testament. We need to remember today that we are coming in contact with sinners who need a change in their life. But that doesn't excuse us to treat them like "dirty people who have a contagious disease". Just remember, you used to be just like them!

Prayer: "God, thank you for grace in that while I was a dirty sinner you saved me in spite of what I looked and acted like. And you can do the same for every person I come in contact with today. Help me not to pass judgment but to share Jesus!"
