I can't get away from Psalm 142...

Recently during a Wednesday night service I preached this Psalm verse by verse. Since then, I find myself continuously coming back and reading the words of David who was what I call "in a pickle". He was hiding out from his enemies in a cave who wanted to kill him.

But my encouragement today comes in verse one. David says, "I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord; I make supplication with my voice to the Lord."

Now you may read that and it does nothing for you. Try reading with my emphasis added:

"I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord; I make supplication with my voice to the Lord"

It's great when you have a pastor or friend who can pray with and for you. But just in case you didn't know it - God wants to hear from you. And David puts it so well when he says, "I was able to talk to the Lord all by myself" "I was able to speak with the Heavenly Father with my own mouth" - How cool is that?

So when you are feeling down today and ready to give in - just remember: you can talk to the Lord with your own mouth anytime you get ready. So let's talk to Him now.

Prayer - "Lord, thank you for the fact I don't have to go to someone else to talk for me but I can go directly to Your throne with my requests, supplications, but more importantly with my praise. You are an awesome God and I am glad you are not unattainable."
