When a new week begins it never fails I will wake up and have 1000 things running through my head. Things to do, people to check on, projects to complete, messages to prepare, etc... So I try my best to start the day by praying that God would help me to focus.
Titus 3:1 says it perfectly.
"Remind them to be subject to rulers (bosses, managers), to authorities (speed limits, laws) to be obedient (to God's word), to be ready for every good deed."
I have to remind myself that God is placing me in front of people each day. People that need an encouraging word or a simple smile. The people I will come in contact with today are not crossing my path by accident. God has pre-ordained us to make that eye contact and to allow us to carry on a conversation. So how do I keep from missing my opporutnity to allow God to use me?
1. Focus - realize what is going on around and not get so caught up in the "busy" life that I pass right by a perfect opportunity.
2. I share Jesus with everyone I meet in some way or another. This way I know that every person that I have encountered today received an encouraging word and I have a better chance of not allowing one person to have met me today in vain.
Prayer:
"Lord, help me to know that as I go to work today, I may have earthly bosses to answer to but You are the one I am to please. Help me to be ready for every good deed and be willing to do what You want done through me today."
