I have found in scripture how I can have more. The word puts it like this, "abound more and more." So it actually promises me a double portion of blessings. It's right there plain and simple. The words from Paul are not very deep. It's not something that hours and hours of study has produced. It's right there in black and white.

Others who read this scripture may say, "Oh, I knew that already" or "Well duh, of course that's how you get blessed." But something moved in my spirit today when I read it. Many people try to make my walk with God a complicated adventure. You get saved, get handed a bible and it seems you are left to figure things out for yourself. As though, God's blessings are hidden treasures and when you figure out His word, you are magically blessed like a pirate would be in finding a treasure. I guess in a sense, that is exactly how we are to search His word. And yes we are blessed when the "treasure is found" but this today is so easy.

It's not that I have to do a lot of digging.

1st Thessalonians 4:1
"...how you ought to walk and to please God so you would abound more and more."

That's it. No magical potion, no correctly worded prayer to memorize and say each day, no in depth bible study to conquer. It's simple.

Walk and please God. That's it. Walk the way He wants you to walk and simply wake up each day and please Him. So why is that so hard? Not only do I have the Holy Spirit inside of me to guide me and correct me when I get off the path but I also have God's word to direct me as to how to please him. I feel many try to complicate their lives when God is just simply calling us to walk in His will. Remember, not only a blessing but a "more and more" blessing.

Prayer:
"Lord, give me the strength to simply walk and please you today."
