I preached on Sunday about the prophet Jonah and how God caused several events to take place in Jonah's life to show him Mercy, Grace and God's Goodness of not giving up on him.

While I dug deep into the meaning of each picture God showed Jonah I can't get away from this fact: Jonah was the evangelist that was used to bring an entire city to God. 120,000 people responded to his message and turned back to God.

My thought for the day is if God can use a preacher who doesn't have his heart in the right place imagine what He can do with you and me who desires to be totally sold out for Christ. If he can use Jonah who had a hard heart, what can He accomplish through you today who has a heart to reach your family, co-workers and yes, even your enemies.

Jonah got one thing right when he spoke these words out of anger toward God in Jonah 4:2, "Thou art gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, and one who relents concerning calamity."

He is a gracious God who can help you reach your loved ones and cause them to turn their hearts and eyes back to Him.

Prayer: "Gracious God, thank you for showing us through the life of Jonah and the Ninevites that you do care and you are not willing to give up on us but yet give us room to grow and realize that we are nothing without you. Touch us today in a special way so that we can reach others for you."
